Welcome! My name is Melissa Santos, a bilingual speech-language pathologist providing expert pediatric speech therapy in Long Beach, CA. I earned my bachelor’s degree in 2013 from California State University, Fullerton. After gaining four years of experience as a speech-language assistant, I completed my master’s degree in 2020 from St. Mary’s College in Indiana.

A little about me—I’m a California native who loves hiking, trying new foods, and coffee. I’m also a passionate bird lover and fluent in Spanish, which helps me provide bilingual speech therapy to diverse families. I have two younger siblings diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, giving me personal insight and empathy in my work.

Throughout my career, I have worked with children aged 16 months through adolescence, specializing in a range of speech and language disorders including articulation therapy, mixed receptive-expressive language delays, autism spectrum disorder therapy, and more.

My therapeutic philosophy focuses on following each child’s lead and using their unique preferences and motivations to build communicative confidence. I provide individualized, family-centered care that meets your child’s specific needs and developmental goals. I firmly believe therapy should be engaging and fun, fostering a positive, trusting relationship with each child while empowering YOU—the parent—to support your child’s communication growth. Parents and caregivers are a child’s best resource and advocate.
