What is an Evaluation?
Before beginning pediatric speech therapy at Tiny Bees Therapy in Long Beach, CA, a comprehensive speech and language evaluation—including bilingual Spanish-English assessment when needed—is essential to understand your child’s unique communication strengths and challenges. This evaluation identifies specific areas of need, supports early intervention, and helps create meaningful, personalized goals. It also determines the recommended therapy frequency to develop a targeted plan that fosters real progress in your child’s communication skills.

Our early intervention assessment is a fun, play-based evaluation designed to understand your child’s speech, language, and communication development. We assess areas like understanding and using language, play skills, and social interaction to create a personalized therapy plan that fits your child’s needs.
At Tiny Bees Therapy, we understand that growing up with more than one language is a beautiful strength. Our bilingual-focused early intervention assessments consider both languages (Spanish) and cultural background when evaluating your child’s speech and language development.
We help determine whether your child is developing language skills appropriately across both languages and offer guidance that respects and supports your family's unique communication style.

Early Intervention (Ages 1-3)
Our articulation assessment evaluates how clearly your child pronounces sounds and words. We identify speech sound errors, patterns, and any difficulty your child may have producing specific sounds. The assessment includes standardized testing, informal observations, and a detailed written summary with recommendations.
For bilingual children, we assess speech sound production in both English and Spanish (as appropriate) to understand how each language may be influencing your child’s articulation. This culturally sensitive evaluation helps determine whether errors are due to second-language influence or true articulation concerns.
